Yesterday morning we woke up to no electricity. It’s one of those things that you take for granted until it’s no longer there. Now days it is almost impossible to get ANYTHING done without it, no showers, no morning coffee (which is a nightmare scenario for me), no heat, no nothing, even the cordless phone won’t work so you better hope you remembered to charge up your cell phone the day before.

We went without power the entire morning as it didn’t get fixed until almost noon. So what’s a girl to do when you can’t do anything? You pull out your crochet hook and/or knitting needles of course! It is awesome how you can get quite far on a project when you don’t have the distractions of all the electronic toys and gadgets our homes are crammed full of. And if the heat isn’t working, make sure you have an afghan going, it will keep you warm while you work on it 🙂

So now the power is back and all is well again. The distractions are back, but I have to admit… I did kind of miss them, even if it was only for a few hours.

  1. Great idea to work on crafts. I love doing those in a car, when I am not driving of course, although somedays. Ha!!

    • Haha! Me too, The joke around here is I don’t carry a purse… I carry luggage. I have to have a bag large enough to carry my current project with me. Just in case you know 🙂

  2. even when it’s dark out, I have a head lamp in my wip bag. 😀

    • I need to get me one of those!! That’s an awesome idea! All I have is a battery powered “book light” that I clip to my shirt, but the clip is made for a book cover and doesn’t balance very well when I’m working on a project lol.

      • I tried the book light as well and then my genius husband gave me the head lamp. He knows I take my yarn projects seriously! I’m about to get another one Free from Harbor Freight because there was a coupon in the paper. Do you have one of those around?

      • Tell your husband I think he’s a genius too LOL. I found one on Amazon that looks good. I think I’ll treat myself to one.

  3. Hello there, You’ve done a fantastic job. I will definitely digg it and personally recommend to my friends.
I’m confident they’ll be benefited from this website.
